Not me. If anyone is ever in a sniper/armed robbery situation, chances are they will either kill an innocent or themselves. Civilians aren't trained to act in crisis situations, unless you're some sort of militia nut.

The only reason you should *need* a concealed weapons permit is if you work or live in a low income/high crime rate area or have a high profile business such as a Jewelry store.
Outside of that, getting a concealed weapons permit to just be "prepared" is usually a not good enough reason to do so. Most likely the state issuing the permit will feel the same way unless of course your in a heavy pro-gun state such as Texas.
The point to a concealed carry permit is to allow you the option to protect yourself from potential assault and immediate danger when warranted. If you feel you are statistically in risk of such an encounter due to your surrounding environment or profession, then by all means apply for one.
Take note though, most states are making it increasingly difficult to receive an CCW permit. So if you are serious about applying for one and happen to fall in one of these states, be sure to provide a unique, legitimate reason why you need one on your application. States such as California tend to deny applications with generic reasonings.

The odds are incredibly small that you're going to run into a situation where your concealed weapon can be useful. If you truly want to protect yourself (1) give up driving (2) give up smoking (3) eat well and exercise (4) live in a good area.
Getting killed in a car wreck is far more probable than getting killed while shopping at the mall.

I used to carry when I was delivering big claims checks in some pretty sketchy areas; I never had need to use my weapon & it got to be a pain to keep track of (like a cell phone or briefcase or sunglasses).
As I never had recourse to use it, I cleaned it, locked it up separately from the ammo, and there it sits, along w/ my shotguns, rifles, hunting knives, cameras, watches, important documents, etc, in a fireproof safe.
I could see getting one if you're a diamond merchant or a bank branch manager or something, but I don't need one right now. God willing, I never will.
Plus, for a short, fat little white boy, I can run pretty fast, which is probably smarter, anyway.

Agree strongly and do carry. S&W 9mm with a tac easy is my widely used. in specific situations I carry my Glock .40 5 with a lazer, besides the undeniable fact that it makes it confusing to objective on the suitable objective interior the lifeless of evening without a tac easy. thankfully I even have under no circumstances had to drag it and that i pray I under no circumstances do. so a approaches as pulling it over very own assets, i'm no fool. i'm going to supply up something to maintain from taking photos somebody else. in the event that they threaten my existence with a weapon then it is on, yet whilst they make no threats and only ask for the products, then it is theirs(no longer the gun, only the money or motor vehicle or regardless of they are wanting, yet under no circumstances the gun).
