I'm 19weeks and for the past month I have been going through the same situation, my doc. also said to take Zantac once a day, but I don't want to I feel that any medicine would affect the baby, doc. said my stomach is growing according to spec. but I'm still worried and I think all mom are till you give birth. I'm also loosing weight and could not retain anything in my stomach. My vomiting didn't began till I was 15 weeks and because I had to take an antibiotic for a stomach infection due to raw fish. The only thing that really stays in me is fruits and it has to have lemon. Since 3 days ago I notice if I drink sprite or 7up with a small very small meal it does get to stay in my stomach. About loosing weigh I'm not too worry because the baby is growing and taking all the nutrients from my body. I do how ever take my prenatal pill everyday. When are you going to have your sonogram done? I'm getting my scheduled so I think till I have it done I would feel overall better and so should you. Take care

Why is your doctor letting you take zantac? Holy crap, your unborn can end up with serious birth defects from those antacids. Tums are honestly all the more you want to put in you. Doctors think that so long as less than 20 out of every 1000 birth are without defect that its safe to take something during pregnancy... but for the rest of the world thats too great a risk.

Anyway, yes, its noraml to lose 5 pounds in a day, or gain 5 pounds, especially being a woman. You will gain and lose that much just in water weight in a days time. Perfectly normal.

Try eating pureed foods, soups and softer things, eat a few very very small meals, or jsut take a few bites every few minutes or something through out the day. It will pass. Just make sure you're drinking water and taking your pre natal.

I was also overweight when I got pregnant and so far I have gained 5 pounds and lost 2, so basically I have gained 3 pounds for my whole pregnancy. I stopped gaining around 20 or 22 weeks, since then I have been staying the same. My doctors said that it is great. My little girl is growing great and i just had my first non-stress test and biophysical profile yesterday and she passed with flying colors. Every time I go into the doctor's I expect that they are going to say that I have gained a pound, but nothing yet. As long as your doctor is happy with baby's growth and movements, I wouldn't be worried. I have heard that you gain the most weight in the last trimester to, as that is when baby is putting on weight with fat reserves. Just make sure you are eating healthy, taking your prenatal vitamins and following what your doctors say to the best of your ability.

Your weight can flucuate in a normal person up to 6 lbs a day, but you're not normal, you're pregnant. It's mostly water weight what you lost yesterday. So you're fine anyhow.

Keep taking the Zantac, the doctor said it was okay, you have nothing to worry about. Sounds like you're either sick with the flu or something else. I don't know if you have had morning sickness up until this point or what, but at 15 weeks some foods still make me throwup and i do get heartburn really easily, so no worries it's normal.

But if it's effecting your nutrients for the baby, you need to keep calling the doctor, maybe ask for some Phenergan to help with the nausea.
