As for expecting the unexpected, its not really an oxymoron if you think about it properly. It would be more correct to say, I suppose to 'expect to be surprised.' It really means 'expect to have no idea what is coming' and either prepare for everything, and always assume that you've left something out, or don't bother preparing at all, because you'll never be right anyway.

What do you think would happen if you were in a car traveling at the speed of light (suspend your disbelief) and you turned the headlights on?

I think to expect the unexpected just means to be prepared in one way or another. Roll with it baby.

If you expect the unexpected then it remains unexpected because you still don't know PRECISELY WHAT to expect. You dig?

Sorry, I have no deep questions to offer at this time.
