there's this saying, "don't be so humble--you're not that great"
i am proud of my achievements and am glad when other people recognize those achievements. if other people do not take notice to something i've done, well that may be an indication of whatever i did wasn't that great in the first place...so i move with my life.
and besides, i don't think humility is a quality that a person can decide they have--humility and friendliness and all those other qualities are opinions others have of you (and you for others) not something you can bestow upon yourself.
