forums? ...Just wondering. I would think it'd be sort of like Fox News to many liberal minded people; they just don't watch it or visit the website b/c of believing in the conservative bias.

But I constantly see posters on here writing about how liberal Yahoo is...

...(I see I need to add) without any substantiation or reason for that belief.

This is so funny!

If you have even gotten a violation notice you know that it is an auto-reply form letter. It says you can reply, but your reply is not read by anyone and, in fact, the same exact form letter comes back in response.

***Yeah, that auto-reply sure is biased!

; )

I'm liberal.

Ancho A, I'm afraid that if you take offense to "white trash cracker"... you just might need to do some self-reflection, that's all I'll say, and the same goes for anyone who feels the need to use the "n" word, in my opinion, but if you'd simply understand that Yahoo doesn't even read the reported statements (or Q's or A's), you might feel a little less confused.

Sure they have a bias, and yes I continue to come back. Most of the people in this forum have a bias, that is the whole idea of debate. To interject your ideas and thoughts on another person and have them interject their ideas and thoughts on you. That is how we learn and confront difference of opinions. If you only watch CNN then you are missing a lot of good/bad opinions by the other networks. You might as well pick up Mein Kemp (or any other ideology book) and say this is all that there is and stop wasting time listening to the same story different day. That same thought applies to Fox News too. I prefer to listen to the various reports on the same subject, subtract out the opinions/editorials and decide for myself what is right and what is wrong.

Of course they have biases. All people do. But their biases are individual and there is likely a nearly equal mix of conservatives and liberals that work for yahoo. I don't believe there is some sort of corporate policy that directs administrators to favor either conservative or liberal postings. It does seem obvious however that the staff is not equipped to monitor every question and answer that gets posted and therefore concentrates exclusively on what gets reported, so some clear violations do get ignored. also, the abuse policy is not 100% clear and seems to be subject to individual interpretation. It is the combination of all of these factors that result in the perception of bias. However, if you are observant, you will notice that both liberals and conservatives are complaining of bias in almost equal numbers. That in itself means that violations are being handed out fairly evenly across the board.

ok i visit. there became a piece of writing for msnbc the different day with regard to the tea events. interior the 1st actual sentence they spoke of that some human beings confirmed up in civil conflict uniforms. They placed that on the information, they teach it to human beings. Voila, you have human beings comming on right here calling republicans racists. Now, do they ever checklist on the the place approximately of the black panthers if finished outfit at those liberal get togethers? i'm specific they are there, yet they choose to no longer teach it. hence you wrongly come to the tip that they are no longer there. in basic terms with the aid of fact the information would not teach some thing to you does no longer recommend it would not take place or isnt actual. yet many a lot of human beings have faith that to be actual, while in fact, it fairly is a severe flaw in good judgment. the place do you think of those human beings arise with their concepts? the information comments the information yet they do it in a bias way. They adorn on it. working example, shall we are saying a prepare explodes or some thing. they do no longer purely say, a prepare exploded this morning in california, they're going to say some thing to the effective of...."In a great prepare explosion of epic porportions, a prepare exploded in california. Investigators so a strategies have not got here upon any incorrect doing. The prepare became on its thank you to a civil rights convention." There could have been 5 trains that caught on hearth that day, yet they only chosen to checklist the single on its thank you to a civil rights convention. Now, no the place in there did they say that the prepare became bombed or something, however the shown fact that they make it appear as if this became extra effective than in basic terms an explosion utilising colourful adjectives and that they checklist on the place it became going, leads you to a unspoken end.

It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

They come on Y/A with their hate, their misinformation, DISinformation and MALinformation and, rather than read, post by, or PLAY by the rules, they engage in childish behavior, namecalling, swearing, etc. and when their obviously trollish questions, rants and answers are removed, they can then weep to each other about the "Death of Free Speech".

But I wonder, do these same clowns let their children watch hardcore porn on TV? If not, then they should be able to agree there are certain things which cannot be available to just anyone at any time.

Logic infuriates the troll, he has no defense against rational discourse.

Again though (as I say in here all the time), if they want debate, argument, flamewars, etc. there are appropriate venues for that type of discussion. This is for QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, not rants with question marks on the end.

I do, and I still come. It is amazing the number of questions that get deleted just because someone said something liberal.

I get really annoyed at people who post easily proven lies and then pick answers that agree with their lies (probably the same person with a different account). I understand Yahoo not wanting to get involved in matters of opinion, but when there is a disagreement about facts, and the facts are known and posted in an answer, then you think that Yahoo would do something.

There is a GOP who keeps posting a misquote from Abraham Lincoln allegedly attacking political desent. Lincoln never said it. The person who originally claimed that Lincoln said it has apologized and factcheck.com has all the information.

But the poster keeps posting away, making the claim over and over again and accepting answers that agree with him/her/it.

Sometimes the dishonesty of the right wing surprises even me.

Yes and yes. They are about as bias as anyone can get you can tell by the way they don't allow the "N" word to be used but have no problem with the words "white trash and cracker" to be used. If that's no bias, nothing in this world is bias.

Good question, deserves a star. I think the users are biased, not Y/A. The results of reporting other users corresponds with the appearance of an administrative bias.

As a liberal I am receiving my fair share of violations. It is just life at YA.

2007-12-07 05:27:46 · answer #8 · answered by gone 7 · 3 0

I find that the more I disagree with liberals the more I seem to get violations. I'm not sure it's Y/A. Liberals seem to take this a lot more personal than I do.

That is precisely why I post answers. If my answer enlightens at least on liberal, then I don't mind dealing with the liberal moderators.
