This is a safety concern to me and my family. Its also a nuisance abatement issue for the rest of my neighborhood.
When I and my family first moved to this town, it was a nice, quiet town, people were willing to work with their neighbors if a problem arose. And the city law enforcement was willing to help the citizens of the town to combat problems too.
Things have changed dramatically since then. it seems a certain family moved into town and now they are running the said town. I am afraid of my neighbors dog, and they know it. . I have to do my work outside my home to keep the yard looking nice. yet my neighbors have told me repeatedly, "dont go where the dogs can see you." They wont put up a privacy fence either. I know this may sound like an old saw, but I am really concerned, especially now that I know my neighbors have purposefully trained their dogs to be vicious. ( I heard the man who owns them say it.) I have told every law agency I know about this, and they just tu

I talked to our district attorney concerning this issue of vicious dogs, especially if they can see you and will almost jump the fence as though they would attack you. The DA says Oklahoma doesnt have a state law about nuisance dogs. Yet I feel my neighbor is using his dogs to harrass me , and since I and my mom have talked to him and asked him to teach his dogs not to be vicious towards us when we are in the back yard, or try to go to the dumpsters, he says he trained his dogs this way. It seems he thinks the ally is part of his property. I and my husband feel very unsafe around these dogs. my husband takes the garbage to the dumpster in the car, rather than walk down said alley. This has gotten out of hand. Isnt there something in the law that says it is criminal to scare your neighbors?

You could put up a privacy fence. Or, you could ignore the dogs and if it attacks, you have legal recourse to sue your neighbor, and get the police to react. Call the Humane Society in your area. They may be able to help

Go to the public law library in your town, and have the librarian help you look up the laws in your town.
When you have the laws in hand you will know who to contact and how. If they do not follow the law, get an attorney on it.
This is unacceptable.
(sorry I couldn't help you more, but local laws govern this situation.)

p.s. you may be able to do a google search; put in your town and county, dogs, public nuisance and see what you come up with. I know I can find my local laws in that way.

Isn't there a leash law>If the dog attracts you on your property put it down or get some bear pepper spray carry it with you outside>Good for 10' away>1 time and it won't come near you again>>That's your right to protect yourself>>

I talked to my trainer & she said maybe a fog horn would work, every time the dogs start to bark use the horn. That will scare them & they will stop temporarily, give them a good treat, like a piece of beef or chicken. Don't hand it to them, you are liable to get bitten, throw it.Keep doing this until they don't bark at you.
