Yes...to all of your questions. A Pathologist is a medical doctor who specializes in Pathology (other specializations are obstetrics, cardiology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, etc.) To become a Pathologist, one must earn a pre-medicine degree from a University, a medical degree from a graduate medical school, then continue to study in the specialized field of pathology and obtain board certification.

Hope that helps.
