Hi,
when you send any E-Mail you also send your I.P address (your computers I.D on the network) from this they can get the area your system is in e.g. London etc but not road or address but the more info you give them the closer they can get so please "NEVER" give your info away, but please don't worry too much it's hard to do and takes a long time. hope this helps you.

An identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP network. Networks using the TCP/IP protocol route messages based on the IP address of the destination. The format of an IP address is a 32-bit numeric address written as four numbers separated by periods. Each number can be zero to 255. For example, 1.160.10.240 could be an IP address.
BASICALLY your i.p. address is a special number you get from your Internet service provider.. Just like cars have VIN numbers, computers have IP addresses when connected to the Internet. One way of changing your i.p. address is getting a router, which then you would get a i.p. address from the router.
A router is a device used to connected multiple computers to the internet at once. The router would take your isp Internet address, and the router would give you something like 192.168.1.1
So in all reality, the hotheads who think they can hack wont see your actual IP address, but your routers i.p. instead. I would recommend getting a firewall to help close open ports if your concerned about security. Email me if you have any more questions and I can better assist you.

Your IP, or Internet Protocol, is an address that all DNS servers use to locate your computer on the web. All hardware that is directly connected to the web must have an IP, or it can not be located or addressed.
If you would like to know more about this I would suggest that you do a Google search.

ip or internet protocol is issued by your service provider and cannot be changed unless you move to a different region of the country that has the same provider. Or simply change providers, you ip will change. However, your MAC address will not change.

extremely likely not.. if your selecting repair then your not on dialup then your not able to simply refresh your ip address like this, you can however unplug your modem for a few hours to release the present ip or contact your isp indicate someone had gained access to your ip address and you would like it changed.
when they have your ip address they are only able to target you... its dependent on your system what they can do from there.
its much more likely its some hothead without the ability to hack his way out of a wet paper bag
