does it take awhile for you? I was w/my now ex husband for around 10 years. When we first started seeing each other I fell hard & fast & then we were together quite awhile. Now I'm divorced & have a friend w/benefits. I feel like I'm falling for him. I don't want to even think about seeing other men. That's how I get when I really like a guy...I focus all my thoughts & feelings into just him...& don't want anyone else. Does anyone else do this? And how do you keep from doing so? I'm wondering if I will ever find a man that does the same....but w/me! Ugh!....why do I fall so hard & so fast?!!!

I'm the same way. I fall hard and fast. Can't explain why. I guess it's just the way I am. I only like to focus on one woman at a time. I don't believe in "playing the field"...never have. I'm like you. I put all of my heart and energy into one woman.

I used to be that way, but I have thought I was truly in-love twice and both ended in a broken heart...that would be mine. And yes I fell hard and fast. Now I have a friend with benefits and I have a lot of feelings for him, but I'm not falling for him. I know what it is and I don't let myself think it will be something more. You have to put yourself first. Focus your thoughts and feelings on YOU, and just enjoy the ride. If your emotions are getting the better of you then take a step back and get your attention on yourself.

I fall hard and fast, but eventually I put the breaks on. I realize he's a nice guy but I need to get to know him and I start challenging him intellectually rather then being a push over. I get caught up in the rush at first but I come to my senses eventually. My bf and I have been together a long time and really understand each other and are really good friends b/c I took the time to slow down and get to know him, and let him get to know me.

*I think the best relationships are when people either start out as friend, or take the time to be not just a bf/gf but really good friends too.

I fell hard and fast for the one that I am with now but we are not married yet and we have been together almost three years!!! but we moved in together after three months of dating!!! but he pretty much lived with me from the first night I took him home! LOL =0) Anyways before that I was with a few different guys (friends with benefits) I had them both falling head over heels for me but I didn't feel the same. So I guess it's just they way you feel towards that person. I don't know I don't think I'm making much sense! LOL

It takes a while for me to fall, but once I do, I am dedicated to only that person. Commitment means more to me than finding another piece for the trophy case does.
