We were togeather for five years and he was very abusive. We broke it off about three months ago and he still has not paid the doctor's bill yet. I was just with child and it was his I lost the child and almost lost my life he was so unsupportive. I have had an order from the courts to keep him away but he keeps coming but I let him. The order only lasted two weeks because I missed court due to work. He has caused me so much pain. Can I also get emotional distress?

I live in Missouri how do I go about suing this person. I just want what is due to me. I did not put myself in the hospital he did and now I'm the one who should pay the bill?

You have to file a notice of claim - not begin the actual lawsuit - within a certain time period to protect your rights. If two years have gone by and you haven't filed, I think you are out of luck. Consult an attorney.
