It wouldn't be ruined, but it would certainly change my expectations. I don't think we'd see any more quick turnarounds from 4-12 to 12-4, and the same big-market and big-spending teams would be powerful year after year. I guess I'd say that my enjoyment would definitely decrease, though.
As for the guy who uses the Yankees as an example of money not helping.....they've made the playoffs for 13 straight seasons! I know they haven't won a World Series since 2000, but that has more to do with the luck involved in a short playoff series than it does with anything else.

No. This is football, and guys get hurt. You simply can't plug in a team of All-Stars and expect to "buy" a Super Bowl every year. A few folks mention Jerry Jones, but the Cowboys' early-90s dynasty was built through the draft, not free agency...Jones' deep pockets had nothing to do with it. Daniel Snyder tried to buy a championship, even with the salary cap in place, but picking up Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Larry Centers, etc. at the end of their careers, and got 1 playoff win to show for it. The NFL is probably the only sport that DOESN'T need a cap.

Honestly yeah it would. It would be no better then Baseball where you get one team BUYING talent they don't need/want just to keep other teams from having it. Yeah the Yankees buy up great players and then will put them in the Minors, because people want the money. I know some don't mind it and I know any one can win in a given day. Thing is though I prefer to see a more even match-up, although to be honest I think teams are cheating around the salary cap anyway. Just have players sign way low contracts because the players are going for the ring like that.

Absolutely! Look at baseball right now...the same teams would win all the time because they have money. That's what makes football interesting and people who are inducted into the hall of fame deserve because they were good, not because they were bought into a team who had the money to do it. THANK GOD that didn't happen in Hockey

Probably so. The Steelers would be doomed.
The Rooneys are truly old school and would not get into a spending frenzy contest with Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder and all these other guys who write checks like drinking water.

God yes. Did you see my list of free agents in my question earlier? Imagine if a team signed all of them where it would upgrade their positions... they would be unstoppable...
Not to mention, the stupid Cowboys would get their dynasty back, which would make my life a living hell (Eagles fan living in a family where all my siblings (I'm the youngest of 6) AND their spouses (save for one) are all Cowboys fans)!
I'd take drastic measures. I don't know what I'd do, but I'd have to do something...
Ashley - lol. Sorry, I was at lunch, so I missed that. Unfortunately, they have strength in numbers, so even if I got one or two off, there would still be like 7 others stopping me... stupid big family lol.

I'd still watch it...but it would be pointless like College football where the same teams are on the top every year with the occasional lower level team getting into the playoffs....so in a way, it would be ruined, but the sport would still be fun.

It wouldn't ruin it for me because I'm a Cowboys fan, and Jerry Jones is the richest owner in football. But it would make football as a whole worse.

Look at baseball! Who loves to see every team in the league be the farm teams for the Yankees and Sox?
