Depends on whether your using a coleman camp stove or a grill. A BBQ is cooking your food directly in contact with the flame , a cook-out is cooking out doors where your food is being cooked in pans over an open flame.

I prefer cook-out. Cook-out is catering in terms of dining. It's healthier and i'm scared of bbq cos they cause cancer!

My family has always called it a cookout, but my husband's family calls it a BBQ. I'm white & he's black....do you think that has anything to do with what people call it or do you think it's more of a regional thing?
