Poverty is all relative.

Somebody living in a trailer park in the States would be considered fairly rich in parts of Africa.

You could even argue that mediaeval Kings had a lower standard of living than a lot of middle class families in the West.

We only define poverty relative to our own standings.

So I believe that poverty will never be eliminated, the balance merely shifts. So in a couple of hundred years time, someone living with all of the mod-cons we are currently enjoying now would be considered poor, because they still watch 2D televisions and have to drive to work in cars that roll along on wheels.

Poverty sad to say, will never be eliminated, because of the greed of some of the people on the earth. We can grow enough food to feed EVERYONE, however, since it is not profitable to do this, and since other products make more money, that will never happen.. Wealth is thought to be grown, and the SHARING of wealth is not the universal message projected today. Until we as a people realize, our time on this earth is finite and limited to only a few years in the scheme of time, we will come and go creating wars, hate poverty and death with lack of love for fellow man. When the day comes when we reach out to our fellow man in trust and love for each other, and share the earths bounty equally, only then will there be no poverty , because as humans with brotherly love, we will not ALLOW it!!! I think that it will never be truly eliminated from our world. There have always been the haves and the have nots. It's just the way of acheiving the haves that has changed. I believe the times will change and the acheiving will become more available, but probably not for another 300 hundred years or so.

Welfare and Red Cross, it will never be eliminated it can only be reduced. Not only does selfishness, and greed cause poverty but also lazyness, if the person dont want to get a job.

There has always been the haves and the have nots. Various types of civilizations and governments have tried to eliminate this but have never been successful. Individuals always want to accumulate more than others and not everyone cares about taking of those who cant take care of themselves. It would be nice if everyone had all that they needed but its not reasonable.

You can't. There will always be poor. Someone will ALWAYS have less than someone else.

Poor often equates to lazyness. Get an education (It's free in the US) and get a job!
