I know everyone's bodies are different...but in general...

I plan on trying for a baby in February. I've been on the pill now for about 4 years. Will having been on the pill hinder my getting pregnant right away? Does it stay in your system for a few months? I was told it doesn't, that you could get pregnant the first day you stop taking it.

Some woman have a surge in fertility right after they quit taking the pill. Others have a really hard time for about 6 months- a year.

I was on the pill for 6 years ( I usually took about a month or two off every year, just to detox, etc)
I quit taking it the beginnig of September and I am not 4 weeks pregnant. We didn't really try the first month for fear of miscarriage, then we tried the second month- nothing. November was my lucky month!

Good luck!

Although it is possible to get pregnant right away, I think most people will say it takes a bit for your body to get back to normal. It's not that the pill has to "get out of your system", but that your body has to get back into the pattern of releasing eggs again. This is what could take some months to become regular and allow for easily timed conception.

It took 5 months to conceive my daughter after stopping the pill. I had been on it for 10 years.

It doesn't stay in your system after you get off the pill. You can get pregnant right away. I got pregnant the first month I was off the pill and I had been on the pill for over 5 years. My sister had also been on the pill about 5 years and it took her about 6 months to conceive. Don't get off the pill until you are ready to conceive. I had a Christmas baby thinking it would take me a few months to get pregnant, like my sister. But don't get discouraged if it takes a few months before it happens.

You will have the chance to get pregnant when you stop taking it. But remember that it may take a few months up to a year for most couples to get pregnant. Good Luck.

if the pill stays in your system for a few months when you stop taking it... how can you get pregnant from missing one tablet in a month?

like you said it affects people differently... just have fun trying and dont put pressure on yourselves.... it will happen for you.
