has anyone heard about a lottery scam from the uk telling you via e-mail that you have won 550,000 u.s dollars and to collect your winnings you must e-mail them back.

Use your common sense man! Did you buy a ticket for a UK lotto? Give anyone your email address in case you won? No, you didn't? Then, YES IT'S A SCAM.

The second test -- does it sound too good to be true? It does? Then IT ISN'T REAL.

Any prize notification via e-mail is a SCAM, guaranteed.

It's one of many. A good rule to remember is that no legitimate lottery notifies winners.
