i think my kids put in a hub instead of a port on my computer now it wont work - is there a way to check and see if it can be fixed - or is there a place that i can send the whole stick and have a disc made of the photos on it - i am really upset about this whole situation - maybe its just out of kilter somehow - i tried to fix it by the sandisk site but for some reason my computer wont let me delete the files they tell me to take out to reinstall the usb stick - maybe thats not the right way to go anyway - or is it possible that the contacts are dirty and can they be cleaned - i have about 500 photos on it and would hate to lose them especially since i was just getting ready to transfer them to a new stick today

Chances are that the stick is fine. Could use a little more info though.

Remove the stick, reboot, then go to Start -> Run

net use * /del

This command unmapps all network drives, if they are set wrong, it can stop memory sticks and card readers from working properly.

Then plug your stick back in, hopefully this should get it working again. Make sure you plug the stick directly into your computer to be sure and not into the USB hub.

First of all, you shouldn't permanently store your only copy of anything on a flash drive, especially if you have holes in your pockets or are prone to losing small things.

Make sure you don't reformat it.

Your message is confusing. You say you cannot delete the files from the drive. If you can see them, you should be able to copy and paste the files to your hard drive.
