Comparison of 'Psycho' and 'The Birds'?

what are the differences and similarities in the two films??

In my opinion, the two movies have no comparison. Each was very different in it's content. Psycho was and still is "one of a kind"....when it first hit the theaters, people had never seen anything like it. It was so scary, people stopped taking showers for awhile !!!! It also had touches of humor in it, like when he got rid of all the cars in that pond ,of what looked like quicksand, behind the motel.
As for The Birds, I've watched this movie many times and still wonder why.....what happened.....was it those pair of doves that Tippi Hedren brought into the house and what was it about them that made all the bird population go CRAZY. The Birds didn't scare me like Psycho did. So it's kinda hard for me to find differences and similarities.

Birds are, of course, a recurring motif in the movie The Birds.
In Psycho, Norman's hobby is that of stuffing dead birds (among other small animals).

A difference:
Alfred Hitchcock was known for dressing his blond, leading ladies in the same basic blue/gray suit with a collar and buttons down the front. For example: Doris Day in "The Man Who Knew Too Much", Kim Novak in "Vertigo" and...Marion Crane' sister in "Psycho". But he departed somewhat from that with the green, more-updated, outfit that Melanie Daniels wore in The Birds.

they both have blonde actress's in the lead roles, Janet Leigh in Psycho and Tippi Hedren in The Birds.. both have locations in small towns, both have death in the story, and both have a walk -thru cameo by Alfred Hitchcock..

the differences are many.. they are two entirely different stories..
