What is the best brand of salt to use in well water softeners?

I would like this to be from your experience and would like to know why you suggest the brand you do.

any brand, that's just a name, salt is salt, regardless of who's name is on the bag, but it makes a difference what type, pellets dissolve slower, crushed dissolves faster,
like different brands of water, in a bottle, water is water,

I wouldn`t have concept so because of the fact the water could already be mushy. to answer persons that don`t understand, Dish washers have a geared up in water softener which makes use of salt interior the softening technique, salt is positioned into this not extra with the detergent.

In the installer booklet of each water softener they indicate amount and formula of the salt ,so when you going to buy SALT check the formula is same as manufacture recommend ,although what brand is not important.

I buy the inexpensive stuff sold at Wal-mart and haven't had a problem in years with it. I buy regular salt and the rust buster salt and then alternate bags. I bought the system new from Culligan but didn't want their delivery service charges.

I use Pro Soft with Rust Buster because that is the brand that they sell where I shop. I buy the Rust Buster version because of the iron content in my ground water.
