I think it depends on how far along you are but it is true, the 'technique' if you will, Is called nipple stimulation and what it is, is: Gentle rubbing or rolling of the nipple, or suckling of the nipples to encourage contractions is called nipple stimulation. And Your oxytocin, a hormone that causes contractions, is released in the body when the breasts are stimulated. In labor, the release can be used to stimulate longer or stronger contractions.
I hope this helps :)

Yes, it is true.. but with nipple stimulation... It releases a hormone called oxytocin which is a natural substance that cause uterine contractions...
Same goes with having orgasms.
I wouldn't worry about it though, it only releases a little bit, not enough to be dangerous.. If it was, doc's would forbid sex...
IF you do want to induce your labor naturally at home though, a LOT of women swear by doing nipple stimulation... 20 mins at a time, no more every day.. both nipples at the same time.

I had to be induced with my third child and it was not going as fast as the Dr would have like. The Dr told me that breast stimulation would cause my contractions to come on stronger. I don't think this is the case if you are not already in labor.

Yes, in late pregnancy lots of nipple stimulation can bring on contractions because of the hormone it releases. In fact, some doctors recommend it as a way to bring on labor.

Yes, but only when you are already experienceing contractions or are late to deliver. It takes a lot of stimulation. Most women who are successful with this treatment try taking a warm (not hot) bath and stim their nipples for 15mins and then 5-15mins off and repeat for a few hours. It can take all day to induce contractions this way.

I just went to the doctor to ask if it was normal to have contractions during sex or during orgasm. He told me it was normal but if it was painful for me to ask my husband to decrease nipple stimulation. Nipple stimulation produces a hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin can be man made. When it is it is call pitocin. The chemical they use to induce labor. So yes this is true.

That is very true! That is why when women breastfeed the end up losing all of their baby weight because they are having contractions every time that they breastfeed. It's not so much the breast, but the nipple.

Very true. Nipple stimulation releases Oxytocin into your body (the natural form of Pitocin).

If you are pregnant then yes it is true. That's why they suggest you should breast feed your baby, not only for antibodies to protect the baby but also to stimulate your uterus so it can get smaller. So yes it is true.
