Definately go with Sprint. My credit isn't the greatest and they gave me a phone with no deposit. All they do is say you can get no more than two lines and they also give you a monthly spending limit.

Any post-paid contract plan will require a credit check. Some companies out there have more lenient credit requirements, but the more lenient they are the worse the service usually is. ATT/Verizon are the strictest, followed by T-Mobile, then Sprint/Nextel, then any rinky dink local/national carriers that may be in your area like Cricket, Suncom, Edge, CinciBell, etc.

Prepaid phones are not a waste of money. Stop calling so much and start texting instead. Only use your phone in an emergency or if absolutely necessary.
I have a TracFone and I get by just fine, but I don't make many calls. I mainly text when I need to communicate with my family.
Cheers

get a co-signer. get a group of people and get a family plan together.
no cell phone company will give you a phone without a deposit, if you dont have good credit. you are a high risk. to them you arnt paying bills/loans, on time, why would you pay the cell phone bill on time.
pay your bills on time and build your credit back up.

You can always have someone else setup the phone account in their name.
It's kinda like asking them to co-sign; they use the other person's credit to establish the phone account, but however, they can have the bill mailed to you and a courtesy copy sent to them if they wish.
Of course, the other person would have to trust you and be willing to do this for you.
That's probably the easiest way to go.
I was in the same boat once and Verizon wanted a $400 deposit. They said, it's to cover the retail cost of the phone and 2 regular cycles of bills.
Best of luck!

Pay the deposit.....you obviously are a risk in their opinion because of your bad credit....or get someone to cosign for you....

I don't have one because I cannot afford the added expense. Do you ABSOLUTELY need a cell phone?
