I think that the person should be able to finish college before they move out of the house. Parents should understand that college is one of the most important achievements that someone can make. It's always best that the student doesn't have any interruptions that would interfere with their college performance such as having to work long hours to rent an apartment. Parents should always keep the student's best interest in mind. When the student graduates and gets a job, it's time for them to move out.

Depends on the person. People can make stupid mistakes because they're too eager to get out of the house fresh out of high school. In a way it's better to save your pennies while in college. But by the time someone is 21 or so, they should probably move out. Nothing sadder than a late 20something living under mommy and daddy's roof - and rule.

I'm all for staying at home until you finish college.
Other than full time students though, kids should move out within one year of high school graduation. Kids need to grow up, and staying at home stunts their emotional growth.

I think if you are going to college full time you should stay at home to lighten the stress so you can focus on school. I also think that it's different for men and woman. I think if you are not going to college and you are a man you should be out by 21 to set a good life for yourself and future wife. If your a woman I feel that you should stay at home until you get married and then move out.

If possible, I think a person should stay at home, until they're finished college. There's enough to worry about, when one is trying to complete their education. They don't need the added stress of trying to make ends meet ... they've got the rest of their lives to do that. :)

I think it would be good for the person to get a roommate, share the bills, work, and continue to go to college. People of this age need to be out on their own. They need to have their freedom, privacy, and own rules. If the person could afford it on their own without a roommate then that is even better.

I think if your parents are okay with you living at home while still finishing school it's okay. You're saving money on housing/rent. And trust me, you'll need to save your money NOW while you're still living at home. But once you graduate and find yourself a job it's time to move out. :)
