Gay Guy Names

I have so many gay friends named David, Christopher (or Chris), Steve, Kevin, Drew, Jay, Eric, and Mark. I'm gay too, but mine isn't a popular name for gays.... not that your name can influence your sexuality. But, I have to admit, there's a high propensity for these names above to be in your Gay Men's Chorus. However, maybe there's just a higher frequency of these names period--- all of them fall into the top baby names until the late 90s when most male names got a softer -an ending, meaning a higher proportion of Tristan, Duncan, Ethan etc.... and I'm sure gay men in their early 20s would have those names. :)

Okay, just to be clear here, I am not homophobic. I'm a lesbian. And of course, stereotypes are not to be taken seriously.
That being said, the gayest name I can think of is Basil. Basil Hallward is the painter from The Picture of Dorian Gray, a book filled with flowery descriptions of the eponymous young man and rapturous professions of love for him. Basil is also a plant, and people named after plants just don't tend to be butch, manly people.

Christopher, Michael, Robert, Richard, William, Steffen, Joseph, Matthew, David. Basically, formal names when most guys would rather be Chris, Mike, Bob, Rick, Bill, etc.

I've been starting to use Christopher or the Brit nickname 'Kit' lately, after a lifetime of being plain old Chris.

I work in an office with lots of gay men. Here are their names: Christopher, Michael, Nickolas. I don't think gay men like to use nicknames.
