Don't congratulate them, that might encourage them to aim higher and we don't want that. I do not know how big the percentage of Americans taking this seriously. No rational personal however takes Bill O'Reilly seriously.

I have no idea what the percentage is, but I hope it's lower than the percentage of people who consider Bill O'Reilly to be a blowhard jerk. These media whores will do and say anything to remain famous. Jeez, look at that Ann Coulter beast.
It's really quite appalling how civil discourse has disappeared here in the U.S., replaced by coarseness and pettiness and monstrous egos and general malevolence of thought. At 45 years of age, I can recall when people disagreed amicably about beliefs and opinions, without hot-headed vulgar antagonism.

When you consider that the knee-jerk reactionary conservatives were the only ones "taking up arms," then I suppose that may be the case.
I'd say about half of the country who happened to gulp down the Flavor-Aid handed to them by idiotic pundits ever took this silly "war" seriously.
Edit: The greeting "Happy Holidays" and other nonsectarian slogans have been in use throughout history. (It's actually the name of a popular holiday tune from the 1940s.) They are not the product of "corporate engineering."

Corporations have replaced the words Merry Christmas for Happy Holidays. You don't see very many commercials mentioning Christmas. Public schools have tried to remove it as well thanks to the ACLU. Tolerance for Christmas is growing less and less as the hatred for Christianity grows. Whether you believe in God or not, the fact of good vs evil can still reach everyone. Celebrating Christmas could be erased from the American landscape next year and become like any other day, but that wouldn't stop Christians from celebrating the life of Christ in their hearts.
Christmas is about celebrating not only the Christian's belief in Jesus, it's about family, sharing goodwill and charity for those less fortunate. If we allow all of that to end, in my opinion, evil wins out and we all lose.

O'Reilly is a real fruit cake, isn't he. How many "wars" can we win, if we only declare them "Wars." For Instance, I declare a "war" on this week. I expect to win this "war" some time during the next 2 days.

This so called war on Christmas is so stupid. Considering the basis of this is that The Christ was born on this day. Which isn't true.

The irony of all this is you guys are fighting for the commercial and secular version of this holiday. Jesus is spinning in heaven and wagging his finger at these ridiculous antics. You seem to have forgotten what Christmas is REALLY about.
Merry Winter Solstice!

since about 90% of americans are christain and celebrate christmas, it is significant. most of us are tired of holiday trees, seasonal carols, and all the crap that is not christmas. the pagan rituals have coat-tailed this religious holiday and that is more than enough. in colorado, a city was going to ban anything religious in nature, on any homeowners private property and it narrowly failed. this is a holiday to celebrate the birth of christ, regardless if he was born on that day.(ref to pres. day) it is to celebrate christ, and that is that. the war on easter is next i guess.

You know what Merry Christmas!!!! and if you didn't know you would be working on Dec. 25th and celebrating nothing if it weren't for the birth of Jesus. Christ should never be taken out of Christmas.
