650 = ( 1 + p ) 450

650 / 450 = 1 + p

200 / 450 = p = percentage increase ( a bit over 44% )

For $450, the increase is $200 (650-450)
For $100, how much is the increase?
For $1 , the increase is 200/450
For $100, the increase is (200/450)(100)=44.44 percent.
