i am a pc user and prefer them, but there is so much animosity going on. what gives?

This is like asking why Dallas Cowboy fans and Washington Redskin fans hate each other. Some fans associate with an entity and go a bit further than the average fan. Same thing happens with computers, cars, etc...

I'm not qualified to answer this... I use both platforms extensively and the pro's and con's for both are about the same. I think the Mac fans (yes, I used to be one) are stuck in the past when the Mac's GUI made it so much easier than the PC's command line protocol, then the better graphics, etc... Any more, the PC and the Mac are just about the same so far as functionality, that it really doesn't matter that much except for some minor details.
But probably the thing I like most about Mac's is that when traveling, I don't have to haul two laptops. Just load up the Powerbook and go. If I need to run windows and win apps, the mac does it, but not so with the PC.

Everyone always wants to think that they are better than everyone else. I like my PC, my brother likes his Mac. Who cares as long as it works for the person using it.

I don't care about Macs or PC's. I only care about the operating system so ur question should have been like Windows or OS X. I prefer Linux, I think its better than bot Windows or OS X.

i think mac fanboys think his mac is great pc in the world.
but they didn't know how power performance of the linux. linux can use anything we one.
