the heisman is for the best player in the country, so to speak. but one of the main things that is taken into consideration is strength of schedule and UCF's sched was not hard, compared to that of Florida or Arkansas (Tebow and McFadden). chances are, smith won't even get drafted high.

UCF isn't in a major conference! The last time someone won from a mid-major was Ty Detmer in the early 90's. He will probably be a good pro because very few Heisman winners are good pros. Gino Terretta and Eric Crouch come to mind.

Probably the same reason that Brennan isn't really receiving SERIOUS consideration. Coming from a smaller, non-BCS conference they just don't get the publicity that Tebow and run DMC get. Unfair but that is what the Heisman has become, a popularity contest. Kind of like Homecoming King.

Since when was the Heisman about the best player in the nation? It's been a simple popularity contest for years.

I can understand why he wasn't this year, but i don't think UCF is as bad as people think either. Sure, they aren't Florida, Florida State or even Miami this year, but it is a growing school getting talented recruits. He will be in consideration next year if he says and keeps it up.

Publicity. Same reason Hawaii isnt playing for the National Championship. They're unknown. Most people haven't heard of Kevin Smith. If he was at a school in a BCS confrence he would have faced tougher defenses. He's being snubbed for his schedule. The BCS is crap.

McFadden would have rushed for 400yds/game if he played at UCF.

that's right, i guess because his team isn't in the spotlight, but even then they are playing in a bowl game because of him so i think he should get some kind of recognition
