I am basically a fiscal conservative and social liberal.

As an accountant, I believe that one of our top priorities as a country should be balancing our budget. Debt spiraling out of control accumulating at the great rate it is, is not healthy. I believe that being in a global market place, that a country's wealth will be as important as a country's military. I believe we may need to cut social programs and pork spending to accomplish a balanced budget...I do not believe we should raise taxes, given the current state of the economy.

I believe we need a strong defense system, and I believe we should invest military dollars in more "star wars" programs.

I believe we should reel in illegal immigration, not close our doors, but allow those that can put more into our society, than what they drain out of our society, to come in legally.

I'm not opposed to a flat tax, as long as there are no loopholes for anyone.

The right to bear arms should be a given, but I am not oppose

I am not opposed to more strict licensing guidelines...license the gun and the owner.

Finally, I am gay, I want the right to visit my partner of 17 years, if he is in intensive care in the hospital, the right to make decisions for his life, provide care to him, and inherit property, without going to great legal expense...basically, I want the rights that marriage affords...regardless of what you call it.

So, who should I vote for? I feel left out by both parties...

As long as the ultra-religious people control the Republican party and want to relegate me to second class citizenship, I cannot support their candidate...and as long as the Democrats, spend so foolishly, and tax the dickens out of us...I hate voting for them.....So, what's left? Your thoughts?

Sounds like Guiliani is your man.

While he may not meet each one of your criteria, he is probably the most socially liberal, fiscally conservative candidate.
I'm note here like everyone else pimping the candidate I would vote for, but in viewing where the candidates stand, I think Guiliani is your guy, I have yet to decide who I will vote for, I guess the other guy over Hillary is my choice.

I see your dilemma, I vote Republican, but I am not a bible thumping Christian with hardcore views, I just think Republicans limit the growth of social programs/government handouts better than dems, and they tend to be better at reducing taxes, also I like how republicans want to let the private sector manage things, the private sector is always more efficient and is better at reducing waste and costs

You should vote for Ron Paul as he is the only candidate who will bring the american economy back under control. He is the only candidate who isn't bought and paid for by the CFR NWO globalists. And he is the only one with sufficient depth of economic understanding to really know what needs to be done to fix this countries economy before it busts.

He is not as socially liberal as you might like but he does believe strongly in keeping the government out of peoples personal lives.

Ultimately no social issue is of much importance if the economy and the currency collapse.

this short video does a good job of concisely clarifying the positions of the GOP and the Dems on the major issues. It may be helpful.

Many of my views match yours. But I really need more information in order to determine which candidate is best for you.

You can look up the candidates stances on the issues on this site:

If your looking for a fiscal conservative/social liberal then I suggest you look into Ron Paul. He is the only candidate advocating reducing government spending to pay of the national debt instead of placing the burden on taxpayers.

Thank you for the question!

My thoughts are that I am quite a lot like you, politically and sexually. Except that I'm unattached, romantically speaking.

My advice is .... don't vote.

After all, if the Supreme Court is not going to allow our votes to be counted, why should anyone bother?

I used to vote Republican. The "religious right" don't scare me. But I stopped voting altogether because I am sick to death of all JUDICIAL ACTIVISM, and the Bush v. Gore decision by the Court was the proverbial final straw.

That is something that you need to do research on and decide for your self. To many people just want to be told who to vote for instead of doing the work themselves. I personally would love to see Mike Huckabee elected. To see what his stance is on the issues visit: http://www.mikehuckabee.com/

Hey! You should vote for Joe Biden. I am! However, you should really research out the best candidates who fit your ideology.
