...Concerning marriage, I walked away (divorced) my first husband even though he was a college graduate and had a "hefty" income as an engineer...and chose to marry a kinder, more gentle man who had a modest income and was a "blue collar" worker...(the first marriage was abusive)...so, in essence, I walked away from a big house, full of fine furniture and antiques, fancy cars, etc. to a smaller home with second hand furniture and used cars...yes, I walked away from the chance to be "rich", but never regretted it a day in my life

no, but I almost did.. the job I have now, and I actually had to debate with myself whether or not I should leave the job I'd been at for 2 years to tak a chance on it,

but it was a ONCE in a lifetime opportunity. so I swallowed my inhabitions and went for it... Glad i did now too.

I guess it;s just a matter of RECOGNIZING the rarity of an opportunity when it comes along.

I did, but now that I look back I think it was for the better. I was backstage one time at a concert, the star of the show wanted me to ride out with him after the show was over. I didn't go because I didn't know the guy well enough, and also I was with a few other people that probably wouldn't have been invited to go.

Even though any other woman would have gone, I'm glad I didn't go because who knows what could have happened to me.

Opportunity has never knocked on my door. I am at a ten year low. Some people I know get really depressed around the holidays, not me. I accept my fate regardless. Today I feel kind of blank inside. Hopefully I will pull out of it by noon and venture out into the frozen landscape.

Not lately... these days I take whatever opportunites that come my way. The thing is there are not many opportunties. That is the problem. I need to go out and make them happen. And yet, I sit here in my room idly wasting my youth in front of a computer.

I am in one right now--I will stand at this door until it is slammed in my face and I don't see that happening for quite a while yet.
For now I am going to take it slow and see where this path leads..the future is so incredible because you never know what is going to happen next.
