Given an n×n matrix B, an n×1 vector v, and a constant λ, if

Bv = λv

then λ is an eigenvalue of B, and v is a corresponding eigenvector.

So compute the vector Bv and note that it equals a constant times v. That constant is the eigenvalue that v corresponds to.
