ME: I just got back from the Bahamas, and...!
THEM: Oh, yeah. We own a vacation home there. Where you NEED to go is Bora Bora! We were there for 6 weeks.
ME: I don't know WHY I got that SUV, last year. I just spent $56 filling that thing!
THEM: I spent $75 last night. That's why we went straight home and bought stock in Exxon.
ME: Wow, this vanilla coffee is really good!
THEM: We just had our vanilla beans shipped in from Mexico on Tuesday so that we can grind it with out coffee beans for a true vanilla experience.

ME: Yeah, everyone in my house has caught whatever is going around, my parents were both dead on the couch because of their colds...(interupted)
HER: There is a lot of stuff going around, I had to go to hospital and my husband has been sick for weeks now...
ME: I had so much fun on my Cruise...
HER: Oh my husband and I have gone on one of those a few times now, we are going to GA next week too for a vacation.
ME: I have a horrible headache...
HER: I have had one for 3 days straight now and no medicine is helping...
These are lame examples, but if she is not one upping me, she is interrupting me, or her tragic stories and sob stories are 10 times worse then mine, or 2 of the three or all. I hate it, its irritating. I didn't know that when I came to work I needed to prepare for a competetion...
Totally feel ya...

Yes. My Geek is like that... if I'm sick... he's sicker.
If I had an experience (about one thing or another) he's had a better one.... and then the conversation always turns to him and I get left nodding and smiling... silently wishing I could punch him in the neck and get away with it.

HAhahahaha yeah, I know a few people like that ...
I think they self-esteem issues.
or security issues.
or SOME kind of issues.
I just look the other way and laugh at them. (but try not to let them know I'm laughing at them, or else they'll just start laughing too. louder than me, of course.)
;O)

lol They sound insecure to me. People who are secure with themselves don't feel the need to try to have the 'ups' on everything.

yes, my mom used to have a friend who used to measure our house to see if our house was the same size as her's. lol. we had the same house. then today, i have naturally curly afro hair and this woman complimented my hair, and said it was really cute, this black woman looked at my hair and rolled her eyes. i dunno. i stopped perming my hair. lol. but its curly so. its jealousy when people do that. they aren't secure within themselves. they have to prove they are as good as you, as smart, as pretty, etc. they have to prove the themselves and others. i feel sorry for people like that. they can't congragulate or say thanks, or compliment, they have to remain jealous. it is really sad.
