The 2006/2007 seasons are different because of global warming. Hurricanes need warmth and moisture to develop, and conditions are typically like this off the coast of Africa. The tipping point has now been reached, and the Atlantic Ocean is now cooling down because of the ice melting in the cold north. So, you could say that global warming is preventing hurricanes... not a reason to party on, of course... we haven't seen what happens when all the ice melts. We'll all be wishing for the good old days of hurricanes...

Scientists have concluded that global warming likely effects the intensity of hurricanes, but not the frequency with which they form. Try reading a scientific paper or at least a scientific news article sometime.

tell me one thing what happened during what was the hurricane season. do you know that all the storms that usually started in the bay of benin did not cross the atlantic but headed into the african continent resulting in the wettest year in some countries in that area of africa in living memory.
