I have a Brand New Frigidaire Side-by-Side and the Ice Maker stopped making ice. The ice maker itself is basically a block of ice. What is the cause? How can I fix it?

We have the same fridge and because we heard so many people were having trouble with the icemaker, we haven't even hooked ours up and don't plan on it. It's still a nice fridge without being able to make ice.

Good luck dude! I heard these ice makers can cause flooding too! : (

1- check the valve (water supply) make sure is open
2-Check the filter and make sure is not block by Corrosion.
3- put on handler key in ice maker
4- pull out ice box and again push back till sit in correct position .
5- set ice maker type in one of key (located in door)
6- Allow 24 hours to start work if is new .
7- If after 24 hours does not work call company to fix the problem.

I have a Frigidaire top freezer that has currently stopped working (the ice maker that is).
I was told that it is probably frozen and to let it thaw out.
You can do a "how to" search and find some good info out there

If you have the type of ice maker that has a metal rod or "arm" over the ice bin, make sure it is in the down position. It sounds like the rod may be locked in the up position which makes the ice maker think the bin is full.

If it's brand new, it's still under warranty. Don't try to fix it yourself or you could void the warranty. Call the help number supplied in the information that came with the unit.
