The pipes are too loud to hear anything anyway. But it's ok, loud pipes save lives.

The real question is why do you ride? Or in this case, why do the members of the Hells Angels ride? The answer defines what you or they choose to ride. Do the Hells Angel primarily seek long distance motorcycle tours in maximum comfort? Are they accessory and technology gadget motivated? Are on-bike intercoms, bike to bike communications a primary interest for them?
We are generalizing here. So there will be variations even among members of the Hells Angles. But the common public perception is that the members of the Hells Angels are about projecting a stylized image of appearance – personal appearance, motorcycle appearance (the custom chopper), etc. A lot of wanna-bee chopper riders are really “posers” who just want to been seen with or on their “bad boy” image bike. It is a more minimalistic approach to motorcycling. The chopper is like the opposite of a Honda Goldwing, and it is used for different purposes.
And finally, with the intensity of the exhaust noise levels most choppers have, an un-faired motorcycle, “in-the-wind”, high intensity noise environment pretty much defeats all microphones and headset capabilities. Microphones and straight pipes just don’t mix.
The Hells Angels guys aren’t stupid. If they wanted a Goldwing, they’d go out and buy one. And most them can easily afford to do that if that is what they really wanted to. The next time you see a Goldwing going down the road, how do you know that rider is not a member of the Hells Angels?

Your question makes me snicker. as quickly as I've asked some very dogmatic religious human beings how they might sense approximately their companion and teenagers being in hell while they have been in heaven, they the two denied that their companion and teenagers might land up there, or they pronounced that God might cause them to overlook those human beings, and that must be pleased with that.

What are they going to connect the mics to? They never wear helmets anyway. And when they do, they are the little peanut shell helmets that couldn't support a mic attached to it.
Also, it's true that a lot of bikers don't like the high tech junk. It ruins their image. And really, that's all they care about.
And to the HD hater. I build my own chopper from scratch (100" hardtail) and I would still buy a new HD. Not all new HD riders are "checkbook bikers". Some just like to ride something that doesn't look like junk. I love rat bikes, but don't stereotype.

I can't answer for their club, but maybe if you asked one of them you'd get a better answer.
Even aftermarket Gold Wing exhausts are loud enough to trip a voice activated microphone, though.

They have the ability to communicate through hand signals and other means. It is not always necessary to clutter up everything with a lot of high tech junk, that will only cost a lot of money and rarely work properly.
Remember the term "CHOPPER" was originally used to describe a bike that had all the fancy crap removed.

Obviously, the Hell's Angels MC has had budget problems ever since the infamous Porterville, CA "Jerry's Kids Kegger/Best Stripper (San Joaquin Valley)/Best Beard of the Year Fund Raiser" of 2002 where they never recouped any of the proceeds from Jerry's Kids, thus throwing them into almost bankruptcy, and ending any hope of the HAMC of going legit, as it was their first and only effort to reach out to a society that shunned them. Tragic really.
Anyhow, ever since then, they have been barely able to afford 40w motoroil, let alone radio sets. In fact, I would not mention it ever again as it is actually a back-handed slap against the 1%'s in general.

because real bikers dont need anything on thier bikes thats not 100% needed. if you know how to ride and trust the people you ride with just pay attention and follow your rode captain and all is good. if you need intercoms to know what the pack is doing id find anohter pack to ride in.
