There is a basic rule to follow; a fifty-fifty split. The wife gets all the assets and the husband gets all the liabilites. What could be fairer than that?

Are you in a community property state? Was there a prenuptial contract? In states that do not have community property laws, if the options result from the employment of only one spouse, they may get them all.

Well you can either sell it, split the cash 50/50, or give the other one 50% of the cash value or demand for 50% of the cash value if you don't want it.

Depends on the State, 50/50 it still income or property.
