Last Monday, my dad took my brother to the emergency room because my brother was really sick. He was throwing up a lot, had a splitting headache, and was totally incoherant. They let him go with some painkillers for the headache. The next day, my dad took him back because he wasn't getting any better, so the idiots in the ER finally decided to figure out what was wrong with my brother. They did a spinal tap to check for meningitis, but it came back negative. They wanted to take him to Children's Hospital down in Seattle, but before they left, they did an MRI and found that my 14 year old brother had 3 strokes. So they ended up taking him to Children's after all. He's a lot better now, but because of the incompetent people in the ER at my hometown, my brother had to suffer for an extra day. I don't plan on ever going back to that hospital ever again.

I took my husband to the ER when he had a heart attack. The nurse put magnesium drip and didn't keep a check on it. He kept telling them the medicine was making him feel funny but she didn't pay much attention to him. I looked at the monitor and saw that his BP was 53/37 and I yelled at the nurse that his BP was bottoming out. She looked at the monitor and all at once she put his head down and his feet up and unhooked the magnesium and his BP started coming back up but it took a couple hours to get to normal. If I had not been in the room she would not have paid any attention to him because nurses and doctors know patients complain about not feeling right when they are having a heart attack. I think they should watch heart patients more closely. She said she had only seen that happen once before so in my opinion she should have been watching more closely since she knew that could happen. They had to give him the mag. in the CCU where they put it on a very slow drip and the nurse was in his room every couple of minutes to check on him until the mag. was gone.

I was in for falling thru a glass cabinet, they wraped my leg and arms to slow the bleeding then took my info and stuck me back out in the waiting area untill a doctor could see me(which was about an hour later). I did get to sit next to a really cute guy accidently shot himself in the foot with a nail gun still had the 2x4 attached to his foot.
the thing though that made it the worst visit was a new mom and dad with little kid who cut his hand they were yelling for doctors, complaining of the wait, swearing at the receptionist, all the time the kid was screaming and crying the parents were not trying to calm the kid at all. in the end the kid hand was wraped up no stitches or anything they left with the kid still crying and the dad swearing they would be hearing from his lawers.

Yes, Ive been there, done that. My last visit, I was there for an allergic reaction to a med. While I was there, the person that was in the next room, which was only devided by a curtain, they had a breathing tube or a suction tube down this guys throat, and I could hear him getting excited, struggling, and I could hear the suction thing sucking all kinds of crap out of him. I could hear him breathing hard, fighting them, and they kept telling him to calm down. It was loud, and scarey for me. I felt so bad for him. Later, the nurse had told us, (which she shouldnt have, but my husband asked) that he was a regular ER patient and that he had some sort of illness that was terminal and that it was a ruitine thing with him. Poor guy...I felt so bad for him. I was miserable with what I had going on too, but all I could think about was this guy on the other side of the curtain.*

hmm back at the first of the year...my son had his wisdom teeth taken out around the time of the peterpan peanut butter scar..he had most of those symptoms...we went to the er..the lady in the curtain behind us had been throwing up for three months had lost 60 something pounds..and threw up the entire time we were there..seemed like it was at my feet...she had been to her own dr..that was the scary thing...this was at five in the morning after sitting there since 7 the night before..was the most horrible er visit ever..my sons problems were a result of the antibiotic from the wisdom teeth and after three more 12 hour visits to the er..they finally said they couldnt help him and sent us to a state hospital who told us what was going on..being in the military hospital network..you dont have the option of going somewhere else when you cant get an appointment

It doesn't sound like pre-eclampsia. But to be sure, you should check your blood pressure. If it's elevated, call your OB and see what he says. Insurance or no, he may have you do a 24 hour urine test for pre-eclampsia. It sounds more like you're dehydrated, so the water is the best thing you can do for yourself. At about 30 weeks, I had blood in my urine and a large amount of discharge. It terrified me, because they could NOT figure out what it was. They thought it might be a UTI, but the test was negative, and antibiotics did not affect it. I had this blood in my urine until about 34 weeks with no official diagnosis. It just disappeared by itself. I would really recommend at least making a call to a doctor. If you're in labor this early, interventions are necessary to take care of you and your baby. Good luck!

I had to go in with food poisoning once. It wasn't that bad of a visit, but they did dig around with a needle in my arm until I threw up on them. Then they stuck it in my hand and caused some nerve damage.
But that's why we call that hospital the Death House.

okay this didn't happen to me but it was hilarious..my dad had a heart attack and they wouldn't let him get out of bed and he had to pee so they brought him a "bedpan" when i left the room i heard a loud sound and he had dropped the pee and slipped on it the doctors ran in with a board and ended up dropping it on his head and splitting his forehead open..so the nurse right there sewed it up and cut off the excess skin with scissors they then strapped him down and put a "fall precautions" sign on the door...keep in mind this was supposed to be a "heart hospital'

just a few weeks ago a family member of mine had to have a major surgery from a tragic car accident & then 3 days later we found out that they had to re-do the surgery b/c they used the wrong pins & bolts in him.
So that made it very bad.

in the hospital in my town you walk in through a set of autamatic glass doors go down like 40 feet and go through another set of automated glass doors.
i was sitting in the ER on night.. hadda been about midnight and this lady came in with her son.. (the reason she came in was for her son) but a piece of her jacket got caught in the door and when she went to reach for it the door shut on her hand and almost cut off a couple of her fingers.. i thought i was gonna die it was so gross and made me never want to walk through those doors again.
