I got a optical mouse that won't work properly under my account there are several accounts on the pc. I've tried running service pack 2, re-installing the driver, using different usb ports but to no avail can anyone help me please?

sounds like you have tried all the tricks ....your mouse may be faulty, try it on a friends computer ...... try removing all other mouse drivers......if it works on the other accounts try deleting your account and make a new one.

You don't really give us much clue as to what "won't work properly" means, so it's hard to say. I'd check the mouse settings to make sure everything is correct there, such as right-hand left-hand function.

ONce I've confirmed everything is correct there just as it is with the other users' accounts, I'd shut down the pc, plug the mouse in and confirm it's securely connected, then reboot.
