Do you think people know you get 3 points for voting best answer on the question they ask?

Aryeh, athough your right and its not all about the points.
Others like myself take time to answer and feel a sense of happiness when the Asker reconizes our effort at answering their questions.

They should. But after a few days they may forget to go back and vote best answer before the question is closed. Or maybe some people just don't have time. I don't know.

Yes, I think they do, but are too lazy. It takes some time to pick best answers and in the same amount of time, you can actually answer quite a few questions.

I think that any good Yahoo Answerer would be aware of that. But than again, some of these questions have made me aware of a whole new level of ignorance than I had known previous. So dont accept my answer to represent everyone.

Not everyone... I didn't know until after I got an email saying an answer was chosen, and then it said that if I choose the best answer I'll get 3 points.

Who cares about points? This isn't a race or a contest. Quality over quantity anytime.

Oh yea, I don't need a response in order to feed my ego. It's big enough already.

I sometimes doubt it, when I see the long list of questions I answered that are in voting.

If you are just voting for best answer and it is not your question, then you get one point not 3.
