Yes, I believe that kids exposed to violence at an early age will desensitize them to it. This is why we have rating systems in attempt to limit their exposure. Don't limit the violence to just movies and games however. There is violence everywhere. Movies and games only reflect violence that exists in society elsewhere.

The flaw in your logic is the fact that TV, video games, and movies don't affect people and make them commit murder and other crimes unless they're mentally unstable. People are only influenced by things like every once in a while and it's very rare. And again, those are the mentally unstable people. Homosexuality doesn't affect me or anyone else. I'm not gay and I ignore gay people when they're doing things like kissing. It's not my business to tell someone how to run their life. It isn't yours either. And no one is forcing homosexuality down your throat. There is no agenda. There is no conspiracy against morality. In fact there's nothing immoral about being gay. So here's a solution. Stop thinking about gay people. If I don't like something or someone, I stay away from it/them. It's as simple as that. Something tells me you're one of those people that hate gay people but yet apparently have gay on the brain and think about gay sex more than gay people. I think you saw two gay guys in real life or a movie or a show or a video game and now you can't stop thinking about it. Maybe you're one of those mentally unstable people I mentioned earlier....

No.... Violent movies and games are just repeating what the news and radio and media are putting into the world. What the violent movies and games do is just make it more visual, more interractive.
Idk about yall, but i'd rather have my curious kid learn about violence and all that from a video game or movie than go out in the real world and actually DO it.....

I think the news is not responsible when they provide so much coverage for a very sad event and give the killer the media coverage and attention they are looking for. We don't learn anything from all this except that is we want to be on the news for a few days we should kill random people.
Violence isn't new but all this media hype that glorifies the killer into 'hero' status doesn't help.

Actually, there's been a study on this and it proves that violent video games actually help kids to understand violent situations better and know what to do if in one. I think that story can't be based completely on violent video games.

there are video games dealing with violence, gangs,
mentally ill people.
problem being, countless americans are mentally ill,
and cannot afford therapy or medication.
end results, violence.also schools are meant to teach
our youth, not to raise and disipline them.
too many parents think the schools are supposed to
do both. parental responsibility a major factor that
must be addressed.

I believe so, but people are resistant to augmenting movies and TV shows, among other things. some would call it censorship. For kids, I believe parents have to be more proactive and educate the children without judging.

Oh yes they do. Kids are so surrounded by violence in the media, that it makes them think it is no big deal. They grow up thinking it is normal, and not horrific as it should be thought of.

No.
Good parenting results in good kids.. Good kids are not effected by movies, TV shows, books, music, etc.
If they watch these things, they know that it is fiction and don't apply it to themselves.
Bad parents raise misfits looking for a place to fall. Too bad, really....

Yes I do ,,,,,
Remember the song Dirty Laundry? (May be not)
Bubble headed bleach blond comes on at five
telling of the shooting with a gleam in her eye
Same thing,,,, we hear it, we see it, we feel bad at the moment but return to living our lives
