Good music is being made every second of every day, and there is so much of it constantly being recorded and put out that it would be impossible for you to hear it all.
What sucks is that the media outlets--radio, MTV, and so on--are profit-generating machines, not good-music-disseminating machines. They want to sell you shiny plastic discs, not expose you to mind-blowingly good music. They don't care what happens when you put those discs in your CD player, they just want you to buy them.
Dig harder. Give up on the radio. The music is out there, and it's looking for you.
This was posted in country, so just for a start, there's a good country-rock tinged band called Kings of Leon. Their album Youth and Young Manhood is great, kind of Leonard Skynyrd-ish.

I agree, all these country singers out now all sound alike. back in the 50's and 60's, you could tell who was singing right away with just a note or a couple words sung. now it's "well you are good looking, we'll sign you to a contract, oh, by the way, can you sing?" thats why i listen to the classic country and what they call alt-country now. most of the good singers now that still sing country dont get attention or airplay.

They may be old, but they can still write some good songs. I personally think their latest CD is a must for Eagles fans.

yea for the most part current music really sucks... i like a bunch of indie artists that are out right now but most of them have about 2-3 songs tops per cd that are good....CD's that are start to finish with all good songs are so few and far between these days....

the "new" country music in general has lost the country sounds we grew up with.
So yes it does and it don't matter if "THEY" are old ,the best country is the golden OLDIES of country.
