In my early 20s, I had an FB and it worked out fine. He wasn't someone that I really wanted to be friends with, but I was attracted to him physically.

I don't feel I could do this today. Besides the fact that I'm not single, I don't know if I'd want to deal with the emotions of it if they were to occur. I was a little more carefree back then.

Yes, I am female and have had success with a couple of "friends" in that type of relationship. It never ended badly because we both truly wanted the same thing which was really nothing more than physical. It can be done, but both people have to be of the same mindset. Many times one person will not be honest about how they feel and that's when it gets hairy.

I'm a woman who's had several "friends with benefits" relationships over the years. Of course the main emphasis is always on the FRIENDS part. I would never sleep with someone I wasn't friends with first. Also, these men who have been "friends with benefits", even when that kind of relationship has ended, are all still my friends.

No, that's not my style. True friends are hard to come by, especially ones of the opposite sex. I suppose I am the stereotypical female in the sense that I get attached after a sexual encounter. In my life, sex belongs only in an exclusive, functional, meaningful relationship.

Female. I have done this and even though I told myself we were only friends I knew I cared more for him than that. I just stayed in this friends with benefits lifestyle to be close to him and when it ended I was devastated. But I knew in the beginning how it would end.

Yes, it can be done when there are two open-minded adults involved. Amazing things happen when you turn on auto pilot and turn off the feelers. We are animals first and foremost and the only thing that makes us human is the ability to think and reason with logic.Get it girl!! Have fun if you find someone who is willing to play by your rules!

Female. I have tried it, except it wasn't friends with benefits to the males it was more benefits ONLY. So I gave up on that, gained self respect for myself and I am tired of men only wanting one thing. I wanted to date not just have sex with them....so that is why I haven't had sex in over a year now. My fingers, showerhead and toy gives me orgasms EVERYTIME. Unlike the 5 men I have met in my life after I left my ex 4 years ago.

To me it got old real fast. "friends with benefits" without the "friends" part.

No. When I am intimate with someone it would be because I want to see them regularly. Do you mean just get together for sex and never talk or go out? Also, No. Female.
C. :)!!

I think that is the only type of relationship at this point. People aren't marrying anymore.
