The Gordie Howe hat trick is traditionally thought of as a goal, an assist, and a fight - all in one game. I know that 'ol Gordie only had one, and I was wondering how the heck you would find out who has had the most . . .

This is a tough one, so even if someone can figure out GHHs for this year, it would be cool.

Shanahan, McCarty have each had a few, for sure - I would add Wendel Clark, Gary Roberts, Darcy Tucker, and even Iginla, Brashear, Bertuzzi . . . the list goes on and on.

But is there any place online that keeps track of these stats? How would one be able to track this stat?

Brendan Shanahan has 8, nobody else has more than 4. It was in last week's Hockey News (with Zetterberg on the cover).

I dont think I would pick a fight, cause then that can turn into a major penalty or a game misconduct- I would, however, trip the hell out of people until i got a tripping or highstick just to get a minor call ONLY if my team was within a comfortable lead and could play shorthanded for 2 minutes without blowing the lead OR if we were losing miserably and it wouldn't matter.

Shanahan, McCarty.... ok, I will stop naming Red Wings. There's no way you'll find out exact numbers unless some head case actually counts them all. It's supposed to be a fun stat not a real stat.

I watched a game where they actually gave this stat recently, and if I remember right it was Brendan Shanahan.

Did you know that Gordie Howe actually only had one <> in his career?
