Did she really put 600 each up there? wow
In reality, budgeting yourself is the best way to figure that one out. Ages are important for this question. Usually the older they are the more you'll spend as the "gifts" get a lot more expensive. My wife and I spend about 150 on each of our two children. They are great kids so they are truely worth every penny if not more!
Hope this helps! Merry Christmas!

We have 3 children and we spend no more than $150 per child. Our children know that there are MANY children who get nothing for Christmas, and Christmas is about giving, not receiving. We think $150 per child is definitely generous! And it always amazes me because no matter how much we try to limit the number of items under the tree, by the time the grandparents are finished, as well as all the other family and friends, its like a mountain!

my children are 8, 9 , and 13, we usually set a limit of 200-300 dollars for one big gift per child, and then spend approx. the same amount for each child to have other things under the tree. This year we're doing $250 per child. My 13 year old likes to hunt and he just wants the $250 in a gift card to Academy Sports. My 9 year old wants a digital camera, and the 8 year old wants a guitar.

I have five children and it can get out of control VERY fast. Last year the budget was around $300 each, but we totally blew that to over $700 each because we didn't do a good enough job of keeping track.
This year it is $150 each and we are sticking firm to that.
Try using Excel to make a spreadsheet that can count and keep track of your children and how much you are spending on them. It will help you budget a lot easier than counting it in your head.

It doesnt matter what everyone else spends, take how much total you can spend on xmas without screwing yourself and divide it by how many kids you need gifts for. Typically kids count quantity and not amount, they have no idea how much most stuff costs but if you get kid 1 2 $200 gifts and kid 2 5 $80 gifts be assured kid 1 will complain.

I don't recommend you do it that way.
Decide how much total you want to spend for the kids' gifts and then divide it by the number of kids.
Sometimes you can make younger kids really happy with less money than older kids, so adjust as necessary.
Budgeting a specific amount first, for all of their gifts, will keep you from over spending.

are you in the Pesos Country?? then i spend 150php to 200php.
this is for each child. about 3 to 4 US dollars, this not that much, i know.
here's a tip: It is much better Not to buy a single item gift. Buy cheaper gifts but many. Some people specially children, as i have observed, like more items that appear before their eyes.

I always tried to split the budget in half and still do even now that they are teens. When they were little though it seemed to come down to quantity so I would also make sure that the number of presents under the tree was the same. My boys were only 1 year a part in age so this was quite easy to do.

This depends on the child's age. We have a 1.5 year old and an 11 yr old. The one year old, we figure will most likely destroy whatever we give him within a week, so about $45. The 11 yr old is now more responsible so this year we spent $180 on her gift. Hope this helps!!
