I know there is no noticeable physical or biological changes so I'm really asking about any feelings around it. I'm sure you felt more risk-free. Did it put husband or wife more at ease? Did that at ease increase frequency? Either of you behave more risque? Enjoy it in more places? More quickies? Or was it just a ho-hum kinda thing?

As condoms were our birth control of choice, I expect some things to be different but not sure what. I'm not sure how she will view it.

Amount of sex did not increase but riding bareback sure feels great. Just make sure you are riding the same horse. If you want to ride different horses, keep a feed bag on that pony.

Positive: Most people have sex more often after a vasectomy. I also noted some women are more likely to perform oral sex on men that had vasectomies. The novelty lasted a long time.

Neutral: It is not really a novelty now that I am 40. Most all the men my age have them.

Negative: In my 20's few women would date me if they knew I had a vasectomy.

I am a very big advocate of vasectomies because given the choice I'd rather contract AIDS than get someone pregnant. But fortunately I have the wisdom to use condoms even thought I had a vasectomy so I don't have to worry about either.

None of these things will be affected. A vasectomy blocks the sperm cells from getting from the testicles to the prostate, where the fluid part of semen is made. That's all it does. It will not affect the production of hormones that occur in the testicles, which are released directly into the blood stream. Vasectomy doesn't cause hair loss, loss of muscles, loss of sexual desire, erection problems, ejaculation problems, climax problems or a change in your voice.

Also your wife should feel better after a vasectomy.
Some couples feel more relaxed after the vasectomy because they are no longer worried about an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy.

I got mine when I was single, between marriages, after I had played the field for a short time. It was a difficult decision as I am the last of my male family line. I decided that if I did remarry, I did not have a need for my own personal kid as I don't endure long term contact with kids well, but could marry a woman who already had kids.
I got it because of the lies people tell about birth control.
It changed my behavior somewhat, but I entered a rather long term relationship shortly after and that overlapped the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, which was a lot more threatening than possible pregnancy. When I did remarry, now up to 23 years, she was relieved of the need to take and pay for birth control pills and I was relieved of the risk of failure as neither of us wanted kids.

At first, yes, it was a freeing sensation to be able to orgasm inside my wife worry-free. However, I don't really recall it increasing our frequency. Our sex life stayed pretty much business as usual, which is good in our case. The best thing about it, though, was the security of knowing that pregnancy is something we don't have to ever worry about or consider any more. I recommend vasectomies highly.

Not having to deal with birth control is a big PLUS. That makes the quickies, easier, etc. Also, the worry about pregnancy are much reduced. On the down side, oral sex changed, something about taste... also some women will complain about the mess

If you have been using condoms you will like the feel better without them. In my world nothing changed with the vasectomy except my wife feels better without the birth control pills.

Besides the fact of not needing to worry about unwanted pregnancies, the whole process was easier on me than it would have been for her to have her tubes tied. Being that she was on the pill, it is nice to know that things like antibiotics won't reduce the effectivness of the pill. For us, less worries = more fun.

Had no problems except being tender for a few days.
