Looking at them now it's hard to believe . Was two seasons with a winning record enough for them ? What's next another 20 years of rebuilding with 20 different quarterbacks while the Packers dominate the division ?

The Bears have been injured all year. Upper management in Chicago is insane. Who in their right mind would trade away Thomas Jones and reward Cedric Benson? Grossman catches all the hell, and SOME of it, he should. If you were a qb that has no running backs, and no o-line, how good would you be? All I can say is thank God for Devin Hester.

1. They have a tougher schedule this year.

2. They should have kept Thomas Jones, not Benson. There running game has been terrible.

3. Defensive injuries to Mike Brown, Briggs, Vasher, Tommie Harris at different times has hurt.

4. They have a new defensive coordinator. I think losing Rivera as their def. coord. has made a difference.

5. To go along with #2, the Bears don't have a good QB or very good receviers and have had to throw the ball 35+ times because the run game is bad.

As a side note, without Devin Hester they would probably be 2-11 instead of 5-8.

The Bears have always been a run the ball, control the clock, and play tough defense kind of team. So after the loss last year they made some huge mistakes. The brought NO ONE in on the offensive side of the ball. They trade away their best running back for barely anything in return. Also they didnt improve the defense at all, they were a little old last year and now it is showing. If I were a Bear fan, Id be getting ready for some major rebuilding.

Yes, the Bears went to the Superbowl last year. I think they need to have Griese as their quarterback, or get a new one. Rex can play really well sometimes and then you look and he had a million interceptions.

Hopefully, it won't take 20 years for the Bears to go to the superbowl.

It happens alot to see a team in a Super Bowl and go down hill the next. Its hard to believe that it can happen but not that hard with free agent movement and injuries to boot. Alot go into a team winning and loosing and luck is always a plus to get to the big game or being a 5-11 team.

Sorry bro, yet no longer liking it. I easily do no longer think of the Patriots should be up there. If something the Falcons would desire to be of their spot. they have appeared as good, if not greater valuable than New England. I additionally think of the 49ers deserve a gap, possibly the place the Eagles are. they have made a huge turn around this season, and the Eagles have not carried out a ton of issues to influence me. relax is all candy.

the only thing the Bears have going for them is their defense. You cant win all the time.

and maybe you havent been keeping up... but the Cowboys are dominating the NFC... not the Packers.

It seems like every year this decade, the team that loses the Superbowl misses the playoffs next year (sometimes even the team that wins it also misses the playoffs) You can thank the salary cap for that.

They have had a lot of injuries this year, plus I think the lose of Thomas Jones was bigger than people thought.

Their lack of offense this year has really put a lot of stress on that defense.

I'm hoping they can bounce back in 2008

i would also like to add, lack of offensive creativity (the defense can read the play before the snap), and lack of any tackling on defense to the list of corrections for the bears. however, if AP stays healthy, the vikings will rule the nfc north for the next several years.
