They make birthday annoucements, but they dont show them on tv cuz its during the commercial break! My advice to you is to try to ask a radio station that broadcast the games or send a msg to the tv station that show the games. If you're lucky, they'll get your message and wish your uncle a happy birthday!

I work in both hockey and television and unless the deal is made with the television station (as if you contacted FSN and requested it) your uncle would not hear it. The arena PA announcers do long reads like that during timeouts when televised games go to commercial. Sorry!

Having watched many games live and on TV, usually the B-Day annoucements are made during a commercial break and are never shown on TV. So your uncle will not be able to see it if he is not attending the game.

Get in touch with the club ASAP, as these "specials" are planned in advance. You would have to find out if the TV/radio telecasts have such announcements during the broadcasts, as these are not coordinated with the team. Again, you will have to do this ASAP, with no guarantees that you may have passed the deadlines set by the arena, TV, radio.
