This team has been killed with the defense being so weak up the middle and they have been killed all year by that. The loss of Grossman for the year is another huge blow and some Bears fans will say it may be a blessing, but I think its not Grossman at all, I think the system is a QB killer, Orton was winning, but he struggled with it and Grossman had highs and then big time lows and Griese just has not gotten it together either. SO why not try Orton again as he won games with his boring ways, oh yeah they dont have Thomas Jones no more and bust RB Benson is done for the year.
Bears are going to hibernate and be done for the year and its time to evaluate what they have and see what they need to fix and go from there. I would assume Grossman will be gone and Griese and they will bring in a couple free agent QB's and draft one. They need to sew up that middle of the defense as well and I think they will really work on that as well, this team could be back to strength next year and in the playoffs or 3-4 win team next year and Smith fired, may happen this year if he doesnt win another game and thats a shame as he is a great coach and has done so much.

It means that Lovie Smith is on borrowed time, Superbowl appearance or not. Why wouldn't you put Orton in last night's game once Grossman got hurt? At least you could give him some playing time to show if it's worth keeping him around next year, but instead they go with Griese who is terrible. How did Alex Brown lose his starting job to a guy who can't stop the run? When did their O-line get this bad? (I know Ruben Brown was a big loss but still, the line looks terrible)
Since that Superbowl loss, Lovie has made some terrible decisions.

The Bears season has been over for a few weeks. They've got a very difficult schedule upcoming and they'd do well to just lose out and get a good draft pick. Not that they'd have to try to lose out, about the only way they can score points is if teams are dumb enough to kick to Hester.

Unless some miracle happens, their out for the season. If the teams up for the wildcard lose all of their next games, and the Bears win the rest of theirs, then they'll get in the playoffs.

It means they have no chance of getting a playoff spot, and they must now decide on who they want to play for them next year.
I dont know what it will take to motivate griesey and their started qb in last year superbowl game (who might be out for a few games due to injury) to play up to their potential, but the bears should concentrate on the short pass and the run game.
Mayber play griesey and their third stringer, if they have one. lol :)

it means they play again next week against Minnesota, actually they have 11 days off they play Minnesota a week from Monday.
I'm not a Bears fan but is it just me or do they always have a good team, and a bad QB. I shouldn't say always not back in the McMahon days or anything but in the last 7 years. Do they still have Grossman?
