how long?

Newman made remarks stating that he was going to go after kitna, and stated in so many words that he had the money set for the fines that would ensue. If he fouls kitna, I think he should suspended for the remainder of the regular season, what are your thoughts?

Donnie, I disagree that he hasn't established intent already. I think when you watch a play, you can easily see intent.

I think people are kind of misconstruing what he's saying. He's simply talking trash/getting in his head. He's saying that him and his D are going to rough up Kitna this weekend. Just terrorize him, knock him down.... Kitna gets sacked more than anyone, and lord knows he's going to go down a lot this weekend while going against Greg Ellis and Demarcus Ware. Newman was just saying that the Cowboy's D is going to be putting him on his back all day and knocking him silly.

It's called football. If someone like Kitna is going to call other players out, then he will get what he deserves.

Personally I am throwing a flag on the NFL for issueing a letter to Newman for his comments. What about Kitna?

As far as the game goes, all the comments are thrown out the window once the game starts. These comments are helping these two teams to stay focused during the week of practice, which should make them sharper on Sunday.

My only fear is that the referee's get flag happy and penalize James, Newman or Kitna for something that is NOT happening.

Think about last week, when Jones made that hit on Favre and took him out of the game...had Jones made comments the week before, would he get fined or suspended?

This is a violent game, regardless of what someone says during the week, these guys are out there trying to take each other out...that is the goal. They hope that nobody gets injured, but I guarantee you that they are trying to hit each other as hard as they can and if in doing so and injury occurs, then they hope and pray that it is not too bad.

At the end of the day, I am now excited and ready to watch this game, that prior to the recent verbal musings of Kitna and company, I really didn't care about the game. So in the end the NFL got what it wanted...viewers!!!

Unless it is something outside the field of play, there should be no action by the NFL. They are just trash talking. If Newman takes off his helmet and uses it as a weapon or steps on Kitna's unguarded face... then that would be different and deserve a suspension.

As far as comparing this to Koren Robinson, that was part of the Drug Policy. Koren Robinson and been sentenced in a court of law twice before he was suspended for a year. Needs to learn the difference between Drug Violation and On the Field Conduct Violation.

For the season if its deliberate. Through the post season. The NFL does not put up with that type of stuff, thats why they sent him a letter telling him they were watching.

I think he should. He shouldn't have said something like that, although Kitna started it.
