He has changed the power of the Presidency with the well documented (not here) executive orders which likely will stand under future administrations.

He has under his watch opened the door on surveillance of Americans, which, may be required, but needs serious limits placed on how and when it can be used on Americans legislatively.

By cutting taxes and not proposing slashes to the federal budget has created large budget deficits, in this, he has made the clear need for a balanced budget a directive of both party's.

He has transformed us into a militaristic culture, bent on assessing the world via the glasses of aggression.

Transformation was the Pentagon doctrine of a smaller Super Army.

All the way back to the First Presidential Debate at the Washington University Field House. Bush was using the Transformation term.

Iraq was a perfect example. Generals were begging for "More Boots on the ground" and Bush insisted it would be a cake walk a slam-dunk.

Bush embraced "Transformation" and we are still bogged down in the Mideast as a result.

Transformed a budget surplus to the largest budget deficit in US History. Transformed America's good reputation to one of distain and mistrust. Transformed a government of the people to one against the people. Transformed a peace loving country into war mongering country. Attempting to transform the Presidency to a dictatorship.

He has transformed many of our basic ideas about the Presidency. For example, I always used to think one had to be very intelligent and well-informed to be President. He has shown us this is not true; that all you need is a big, powerful, deceptive machine behind you and even a silly, unfeeling, clueless guy can be President.

He has transformed our old-fashioned idea that the President takes his oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" seriously and sincerely. It is obvious to even Bush's defenders that he never intended, nor ever intends, to do any of that which he swore to do.

He has transformed my old-fashioned belief that anyone who runs for President must love this country. HA! Bush loves money, he loves his buddies, and he loves money, and he loves violence, but he doesn't love the U.S. or its citizens. He doesn't serve them, he doesn't give back, and he doesn't put the needs of others before his own wants and desires.

So, to sum up, he has transformed many of our ideas of what a President can be and do, for the worse.

Since many Americans felt he would be a good president [the first time] they voted for him which in turn made him a leader. Good leader maybe not but leader the same. I think a leader should be well rounded and speak well enough for the layperson to understand him/her. they should be savy to the needs of whom they are leading and provide through leadership a better way of life or a better way to whatever the group is doing.
