I've checked my wireless internet adapter in device manager, which is working. But when I power up my laptop, the LAN doesnt appeared. Being XP, its meant to be automatic. Is there anyway I can override this and make it work?

If indeed the Network Connectors in Control Panel is empty and the devices are listed in the device manger... then go to the device manager, delete the devices and reboot!

On the reboot, they will be "rediscovered" and the correct drivers will be reloaded. If they are not rediscovered you will need to reinstall them from the driver cd etc. (But 99% of the time they will just auto reinstall.)

They should then "reappear" in the Control Panel and go to working. XP does this sometimes, no good reason, it just does.

Hope that helps. Merry Christmas and God Bless

Have you turned the physical wireless switch off? It is generally a slider on the front of your laptop.
