As late as October, many stores had the Wii in stock on their shelves. Due to 'black friday' sales, high demand for christmas gifts and limited in store stock, the stores ran out and wont receive more shipments until after Christmas. Some 'entrepreneurs' realized that this would happen (it does every year with several 'hot items') bought up available Wii's in stores that had them on sale and are now offering them at a huge markup on sites like ebay, etc. My children would love to have a Wii, and yes we saw a couple available at a local Game Stop back in October. We didn't buy one then, and there is no way I would buy one right now with those same $250 consoles selling for over $500, however many people will do that.. thinking that they just have to have that Wii sitting under the tree on Christmas morning. I'm sure we will get one, but it will be well after Christmas, when the stores are restocked. It's all about supply and demand.

Two things go on when you see prices like that that have doubled to price. Gouging and Supply and Demand. People take advantage of the fact that Wii's are difficult to come by, therfore they can double the profit by increasing the price.

either that, or you need to look closely at the offer. It may be a bundle which would cost you the $550 such as additional controllers, games, etc.

They want to make as much money off people. Theres a high demand for Wiis but theres a low supply of them around. If u now someone who works at a place that sells them, have them call u when the shipment comes in. Thats what i did.

That old supply and demand. People will ask what they think others will pay. I got my Wii for $250. At the time, folks thought I paid too much. Now....what can I say.

Remember beanie babies? Some were going for hundreds of dollars! The market fell out and those same beanies are now going for $5 and $10.

If Ebay, then yes, people are likely trying to make a profit by re-selling what they've bought.

If other online retailer, a lot of them bundle extra games (more than just Wii Sports) with the console so that they can charge the extra money for it. Unless you know the games that are coming with it, and want them all, it's probably cheaper to buy the console separately from the games. ...Assuming you can find one.

It isn't fair but that's what some people refer to as the cost of business. Keep in mind it isn't Nintendo charging those prices but individuals who were lucky enough to get one. It's a very high demand item because even seniors are using them. Good luck on your quest.

My daughter works in Currys and she told me the wii's are in big demand and the chances of them being in stock this side of xmas is slim. So yes people are going to sell them to make a big profit some are going for over £400 on ebay.

Supply and demand, my good man. Nintendo can't produce enough consoles for the demand and if someone can make an extra buck by selling their new consoles over-priced to frantic buyers, then it's not very likely they aren't going to.

there is merely a one time fee of 500 wii factors, that's comparable to 5 money. i think of that it somewhat is properly worth it. The speeds are very rapid, you could bypass on youtube, yet you won't be able to receive something. it continues to be very solid nevertheless and that's properly well worth the money. you additionally can play video games on miniclip that merely use a mouse, which includes bloody day or bush shoot out. happy GAMING!!!=)
